The story of these castles and defences is told as a guided tour by Weymouth Heritage Centre, using the exciting medium of Historical Interpretation, coupled with research and archived material from the National Records Archive. We take in the Tudor Castles of Portland and Sandsfoot, the ruined Norman Castle at Wakeham, as well as some of the sites connected with Henry VIII and Elisabeth I and the Spanish Armada. The Victorians also added to the defences of the area, and this is also described in the tour.

This is a walking/minibus tour, led by a costumed guide, starting outside the Pilgrim House in Hope Square, at Brewers Quay. Please email your preference – this tour has a 12-person capacity.
