TALL SHIP TOUR

Once onboard this “Gaff Rigged” ship, you will be briefed about both the safety and how to take part in some of the crew’s activities (if you want to experience the age of sail first hand) by the Ship’s Crew, and then a costumed guide will give a brief introduction to the history of the Portland “Roads”

You will then depart on a cruise from the Isle of Portland Marina into the main harbour, and then out of one of the harbour entrances into Weymouth Bay. You will be given the chance to hoist the sails, and steer the ship under instruction from the crew, and a commentary will be given by the Costumed Guide of the history of the area, including tales of Smugglers, Pirates, great Sea Battles, and famous Shipwrecks! We will then return back to the Marina.

This Tour starts from the Jetty in Portland Marina – please meet outside the Boat that Rocks Cafe Portland Marina, 7 Hamm Beach Rd, Portland, DT5 1DX

Tours suitable for 8yrs upwards (ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT).

Tickets available, but this offer is restricted to a maximum of 12. Prices start at £400 per sailing.

There are public Car Parking spaces available nearby in the area around the Sailing Academy.
